• Bookcrossing and Promoting Public Welfare Knowledge
Partner Organization: Charity School
Project Duration: Sep 2018-Aug 2019
Project Status: Completed
Despite the progress made in the public welfare industry in China, there were still areas for improvement. In particular, public welfare organizations seldom applied theoretical concepts to their work, often prioritizing practical experience over acquiring knowledge. This was exacerbated by the lack of avenues to acquire and disseminate knowledge. This project hence served to address these gaps in the industry. The foundation collaborated with the Charity School to consolidate material from a wide range of resources into a sample library. Adopting the concept of offline book circulation – resources in the library are donated by users and used together with a “circulation” card – encouraging the sharing of resources, knowledge and accelerating the development of public welfare research. By establishing a high quality and efficient public welfare knowledge platform and network, the project hopes to bring about positive growth to the public welfare industry.
