The Zhenyu Gap Year Programme provides undergraduate or master’s graduate students in Henan province the financial support for one year to implement projects targeted at developing the education sector. 6-10 outstanding students will be selected each year and given RMB 100,000, fully sponsored by the Henan Zhenyu Education Foundation. The programme seeks to nurture a group of outstanding innovative talents who are passionate about social issues by providing a comprehensive training and mentorship programme with exposure to real world experiences.

• Zhenyu-Zhuoxue Community English Teacher Programme [ Talent support ]

Project Status: Ongoing
The Zhenyu-Zhuoxue Community English Teacher Programme is a collaboration between the education departments in Zhumadian City, Suiping County and Pingdingshan City, Jia County, both located in Henan province. With the support of the county’s English teaching and research centre, an English teacher community and network was formed in each county. Each community of around 100 people is made up of 80 English elementary and junior high school teachers and the remainder are local English-speaking teachers. The formation of this community aims to raise the overall English teaching standards in Henan province by facilitating knowledge sharing and mutual learning.
