To commemorate the Beijing Normal University alumni Ms Wei Qingxian, her two sons, Dr Eric Xu Yong and Mr Xu Yan set up the Beijing Normal University Wei Qingxian Education Charitable Fund. The donation was made through the Xu Family Charitable Foundation. Mr Xu Shubin, alumni of the Department of Physics at Beijing Normal University and Ms Wei Qingxian, together with their son, Dr Eric Xu Yong initiated the Fund for Talents in Physics at Mr Xu’s alma mater. The fund is intended to help elevate the school internationally, enhancing the quality of the faculty by nurturing senior talent, expanding teaching, research support and management team capabilities.
